Suran is also popularly known as jimikand or elephant foot yam. It is very high in fibre, which helps in digestion. It is also helpful for diabetic patients as it does not allow blood glucose to increase. It helps to clean intestine, thus helps to reduce weight. It is available throughout the year so it can be included in regular diet. Infact, it is also eaten widely during fast. It can be prepared in different ways. Today i will show you my version of "Masala Suran". Preparation Time:  5 mins Cooking time:  15 mins Ingredients: Suran - 1 cup Water - 1/2 cup Salt to taste Cooking oil - 2 teaspoon Curry leaves - 4 to 5 leaves Zeera(cumin seeds) - 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon Coriander cumin powder - 3/4 teaspoon Garam masala - a pinch Salt to taste Coriander(chopped) - for garnishing Click on this link for full recipe video Method: Cut suran into 1 inch pieces.
